Hi everyone, my name is Chantal McFeely, a Brighton girl born and bred, but for the past 15 years I have been living on the West Coast of Scotland, along with my three amazing sons who are 25, 15, and 13.

As a child all my holidays were spent in Belgium, [my mother’s home country], hence the French connection with my name and my ability to speak fluent French.

During my day you will find me teaching British Sign Language Level 3 to children, I am also a Purpose Life Coach and produce a weekly Chatty Tuesday Vlog.

Late last year my life changed dramatically with the sudden death of my younger son’s father, Robin. This tragedy prompted me to dedicate some time to raising money for The Mental Health Foundation and to increase awareness of those who struggle with their mental health and reduce the stigma that surrounds it.

So, I set about creating calendars and a photo book [inspired from my seaside walks] which can be purchased through my website and completing a 1.4-mile swim from Holy Isle to Lamlash [The Island of Arran]. To date, I have raised £2,800.00 with my target being £3,000.00 by the end of the year.

To add to the fundraising I have also undertaken ‘The Polar Bear Challenge’, where I will be required to swim not only 3000m per month between 1st Nov-31st March, but to also undertake 10 different challenges, wearing only a swimming costume in temperatures less than 9 degrees Celsius!! All proceeds go to The Mental Health Foundation
