Red Bull have today launched the RB18 – their car that they hope will see Max Verstappen retain his World Driver’s title he claimed in Abu Dhabi last season in a controversial title deciding race.

Team Prinicipal Christian Horner said “Now we have the number one on the car, the challenge is to keep it on the car. With a new set of regulations, it’s going to be incredibly difficult but motivation is sky high.” During the launch, which was presented in a video Horner didn’t give away to many technical details about the car an did admit that “when we get to the first race, the car is not going to look very much like this,”

Its the first time since 2014 the number 1 has been visible on a car – coincidently on Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull, the first season of the out-going turbo hybrid era, the season in which the Mercedes team started their domination on the sport.

Red Bull also announced a new title partner during the launch – Oracle a computing technology corporation in a deal which is one of the most lucrative in F1 history although Red Bull themselves have not commented on the deal, it’s rumoured to be worth around £74m a year for the next five years.
